Leading into the week of Easter, Hunter Netball had both team one and team two take to the court at Netball Central in Homebush.
Hunter Netball Team One, took to the court for the first time this year, after their first round was abandon after Netball Central indoor court conditions were impacted by recent weather events.
In the closet scoring game of Round two of the season Hunter Netball, went down by just two goals after leading for much of the game. It was a closely contested match with Sutherland Shire taking the lead in the final moments, and Hunter Netball going down 33 to 31.
Hunter Netball 1 will take to the courts again on Thursday 28 April, after a short Easter break to take on Central Coast 1, this will be a tight local derby at Netball Central to be played at 8.30pm.
Hunter Netball Team 2 after 3 rounds, is yet to come away with the win. In a game that was extremely physical game against Liverpool City 2, with 6 players cautioned throughout the game. Hunter Netball faced up to the challenge in each quarter but went down in the end 34 to 44.
Hunter Netball 2 now has extended break and don’t take to the court again until Monday 2 May where they will take on Sutherland Shire 2 in what will be a close game.
Hunter Netball is supporting the inclusive pathways of Male participation in the game and will have boys and men teams playing in the upcoming 2022 HART Junior and Senior State Titles. This is the first time that male divisions will be included, and Netball NSW and Men’s Netball are working together to build out our make base. It is really exciting for Hunter Netball to be part of this opportunity providing a pathway for boys and men in the Hunter to play elite netball.
