A big week of netball with mixed results

Hunter Netball hit the courts over two big nights of netball as part of the Netball NSW DOOLEYS Metro League competition, with mixed results.

Hunter Netball Team 2 clashed with Liverpool Netball Association as part of round 2 of the DOOLEYS Metro League Development Series. It was an intense match with both teams fiercely contesting every play, with both teams displaying great determination.

Hunter Netball secured a solid lead, that they maintained throughout the game, proving to be the stronger team taking a 42 to 31 win, making it two wins from two starts.

The coach was impressed by the teams performance, praising their toughness and strength on the court. This victory showcased Hunter Netballs skill and resilience, setting a positive tone for the rest of the season.

Hunter Netball Team 1 took to the court against Eastwood Ryde Netball Association in Division 4 on Tuesday evening.

Whilst Eastwood came out strong, Hunter was able to come back to within a 3-goal chase at the end of quarter one. Hunter put in effective chase in the second quarter but went into half time 5 goals down after a solid effort by Eastwood Ryde.

With pockets of good strategic play of the rolling subs Hunter was able to turnover 5 centre passes but it was not quite enough as Hunter moved into the final quarter of the game.

Eastwood Ryde came out with great strength in the final quarter, and despite the best efforts of the athletes on the court the game got away from them.

Hunter Netball Team 2 take on Penrith Netball in a late Monday night game at 8.50pm, and Hunter Netball Team 1 and Baulkham Hills Netball go head-to-head at 7pm on Tuesday night.
